Alongside a collection of SpongeBob and original character-centric paintings stand a 5ft Companion and two Accomplice vinyl statues in black and in pink. The exhibition represents shift in the artist’s solo exhibitions in that the focus appears to be veering toward the three-dimensional, and away from paintings and prints; this is of course only compounded by the recent display in Hong Kong. Here’s an interesting new UK label called Private White V.C.
The label has a great pedigree for two reasons: firstly, it’s made by the guys whose factory manufactures jackets & other garments for Albam etc, and is designed by the son of Laura Ashley. And secondly, the collection is all based on the life and wardrobe of the owner’s great-grandfather, who preceded him in the coat-making business after being awarded the Victoria Cross medal for bravery in World War I (hence the “V.C.” in the name). The collection is entirely produced in the same Manchester factory where the owner’s great-grandfather began his clothes-making career, and it’s been a family business since then.
Have a look through the collection. We’re sure you’ll find something you like. The camel duffle coat above is one of our favorites.

Freshjive have just unveiled their collection for the Fall. Since Spring, founder Rick Klotz opted to remove any sort of branding from his collections and replace it with a black box. Although some could argue that placing a black box surrounded by a white frame on visible areas of a particular garment (ie. left chest, left hip) would count for just as much branding as using a regular logo that spells out Freshjive, we’ll leave it up to you to make up your own opinion on Klotz’s ‘revolutionary’ move.

Selectism takes a first look at the Freshjive Spring 2011 collection.
The “no-label” Freshjive line makes a significant change in their approach for Spring 2011. The once “street” driven line which has roots in various circles – from streetwear, to skate and surf - takes a wonderful stroll into new ground that appear more menswear focused, thanks to the help of their new creative director. “Bringing in creative director Mark Wiesmayr, who has worked with Tsubi, Urban Outfitters and Blue Blood, Freshjive is stepping away from its street wear roots, in the direction of a more men’s, designer-contemporary line while maintaining its street culture sensibility… Choosing to move forward without visible name branding, the new Freshjive has a focus on rustic modernism, in both texture and form, celebrating the masculine relationship between avant-garde design and heritage aesthetics.” Welcome.

The video is a nice narrative of the creation process of the project – also it gives some nice behind the scenes look at Kaws drawing up the design and Dos Equis producing the final bottle. Overall a great promotional video.

It’s been a while since we last heard from the folks at Ludwig. It seems the reason for their hiatus is because they’ve been hard at work putting together a new collection. Well, it was definitely worth the wait, as the new range is impressive, and shows their maturation as a whole. Unfortunately, from what we understand, this collection will not see production, and that is a shame, because it is undoubtedly Ludwig’s best effort to date.

With much anticipation many have awaited the re-opening of London’s premier sneaker boutique, Footpatrol, which surprisingly to many, closed a couple of years ago, after having been on the forefront of independent sneaker culture in the capital for so long. The new Footpatrol London store will open this month and has been designed by the Wilson Brothers and Brinkworth.
“Designed by Wilson Brothers and Brinkworth, the design of the store is as much a one-off as the products within, all of which have been individually selected by Michael Kopelman, the original Foot Patrol owner and current Creative Director.
Based in London’s Berwick Street, the store’s understated façade is simply a prelude to what has been achieved architecturally within. A ‘second’ shop, complete with pitched roof, has been constructed to float within the store shell, assembled from an urban palette of recycled scaffold board for the floors, walls and ceiling, teamed with satin black steel for the fixturing.
A fully-mirrored end wall accentuates the intimate scale of the ‘inner’ store, playfully reflecting the linearity of the design as an optical illusion, that appears to extend the store rearwards as an infinite space. Clever concealment of lighting and services, behind the pitched roof cladding, allows for a unique, sliding ‘library-style’ product display system, which can be extended along the whole length of the store, or nested at either end to leave space for special events or promotions.
This blend of modularity and function, offset with an aged vintage backdrop, creates the perfect stage for the final detail. The original, revered Foot Patrol gas mask logo, housed within an aged metal frame and rendered in white neon, meets customers as they enter the store through the ‘transition’ space, the antechamber where the outer and inner stores meet.”
Photography: Louise Melchior.
Look out for the opening July 2010. Many more images of the new Footpatrol follow after the jump

SNS presents a full look into their contribution to Reebok’s Pump 20 campaign.
As the shoe is released in November, we figured we had to do a Fall/Winter sneaker that will keep you dry and warm. For upper materials we have worked with nubuck and wool and hooks and rings for the laces to get that proper hiking boot feel. In the lining we added Thinsulate for extra insulation, and Reebok Play Dry to transport moisture from your foot to help you to stay warm. With safety orange details, you are sure to be seen if you are lost, and the text on the side “alltid redo” (always ready) is the Swedish Scout motto.
The Reebok Pump 20th x Sneakersnstuff will come with four sets of laces: dark grey, light grey, orange and a multicolor SNS patterned lace. As we’ve mentioned with all styles in this program, these are limited to 31 pairs and will be released on November 20th.

Ken Block is totally insane - in the best of ways. After pretty much inventing the sport of Gymkhana to satisfy his need for speed, he’s taken it to another level with his next adrenaline project, the TRAX STI. A Subaru WRX STI with snow cat tracks, and a 2.5 liter, 4-cylinder, 400-hp turbocharged and intercooled STI engine tuned with a MOTEC M800 ECU, the TRAX STI may be the fastest vehicle to travel on snow ever. Of course it’s also hooked up with a sleigh trailer big enough for four shredders and all of their shit, meaning the DC team is gonna get to some spots that no one else does this year. Peep the video above and hit 0-60 Magazine for the real gearhead details. More on this to come.
