Last week Eric, Shawn and I made a quick visit to our friends at UpRev. If you don't know about UpRev please visit their site to gain an understanding on what they are about. I mean just look how happy Russell is to see us... that's great customer service right there.

The man of the hour Richard H. This guy can sell a deaf man head phones, if you know what I mean. A great guy that holds down the fort at UpRev

You see with all the business UpRev has been getting lately, they had to acquire a bigger facility to accommodate all the extra work.. Like SPL Parts track car.

Or this sick GTR that Russell is working on improving its down pipes and exhaust.

Now the main reason we were heading to UpRev was to check on Eric's 350z.

Russell is redoing all Eric's turbo piping and lines. Why you ask? Let me show you why.

During a late night trip home from work, Eric decided to stay in the lane where a massive bump was. And if you don't know Eric already, he is slammed to the ground. Due to this Eric hit this massive bump going God knows how fast and busted his radiator and some pipe damage occurred you might say...

We also came to find out during one of UpRev's dyno days, that Eric had a cracked wastegate. Also due to him being so slammed to the ground and hitting everything insight.

Lets take a closer look on what's to come.

Russell telling Eric his plan of action.

I guess Richard can give some input too..

I for one did not know how talented Russell was at welding. Here he shows Eric some of his work.

And like I mentioned before, he is working on that GTR and just look how pretty this down pipe is turning out.. Rainbow welds baby!!

Now if you don't know of Russell Walker you better hit up YouTube. This man can drift his ass off. He is building a new drift machine as we speak.

A closer look at the new toy Russell has been working on. Rear-wheel drive Subaru that should be touching 400+hp..

This is his new daily ride to fight the high gas prices..

As we where leaving Richard was telling me that SPL Parts are moving in straight across from them. Pretty sick..

The people behind the upcoming National Geographic show How Hard Can It Be? were recently spotted filming an episode for the show’s Fall 2011 expected premier. Exploring the many facets of possibility, they wanted to see if recreating Disney’s animated film Up was physically possible. Deemed almost impossible to do it with a real house, they set up a lighter weighted version and set it off in the California desert with 300 weather balloons.

Houston's Exciting Car Show bring more show categories, more guests, more fun!! Looking forward to an exciting event and a great time. In 2011, IR happens on Spring Break weekend and the last weekend of the Houston Rodeo. And we're hosted right across the street from Reliant, at the Crowne Plaza Hotel & Convention Center. The reason for the move (from the Woodlands) is we wanted to be more centralized and more accessible. Not to mention the opportunity of hosting IR: Drift in the Reliant parking lot in the future. If you want to participate, register your car online. Spots are limited and will fill up quickly.

The Blackberry PlayBook is a 7-inch LCD tablet that RIM boasts as the “fastest tablet ever”, in addition to the world’s first “professional” tablet. StanceWorks is proud to announce a special collaboration with Fatlace / HellaFlush in the form of an event far different then either entities have done before. In the constant pursuit of thinking “outside the box” in coming up with new experiences that few have been apart of, we present to you The 512 Project.
This event will occur on June 26th and will take place in capital of the Lone Star State: Austin, Texas. More importantly is not where it is occurring, but more “on what” it is occurring.
I would like to present to you DriveWayAustin:

To give you a better idea of what I’m referring to, here is a quick write-up:
Driveway Austin is a unique motor sports training and entertainment complex located in the heart of Austin, Texas. This state-of-the-art motoring academy brings a European style and flair to Central Texas. The superb Grand Prix Course has elevation changes, signature corners, extensive training facilities and a F1 caliber track that weaves its way through canopies of trees alongside the Colorado River.
The world class circuit design incorporates features of internationally famous tracks around the world including Fiorno, Imola, Laguna Seca, Road Atlanta and Monaco.
Pictures are worth 1000 words though, so here is a taste of what the track looks like:

We will be renting out the entire track for the day. So your going, “well sure, plenty of people hold car shows out at tracks… what’s the big deal?” This is true, but how many car shows happen ON the track?
Yes, that’s right… the event will be happening ON the track. The cars will be parked up and down the sides of this unique motor sport creation that few have ever even seen being that it’s mere inception started in 2007.
DJ Dawodu will be laying down the beats, with give-a-ways from various vendors and sponsors, as well as other surprises… more to follow.
One of the biggest notables is our media partners that will be attending. Our good friends at AWOL and WagenWerks will be in attendance to do what they do best. On top of that, the crew from 360VM will be out filming as well as some of the best photographers in the scene right now, including representatives from Speedhunters, HellaFlush and of course StanceWorks. Suffice to say, if you have been looking to have your car covered in ways that few have, that should be reason enough to show up. More notables will be announced along the way.
However, we are not stopping there.
For all registered cars, our friends at MayDayGarage will be hosting staged rallies from Dallas and Houston called “The Capital Run.” You will be given a starting point late the night before, to meet up the following morning to cruise down to the event for early roll-in. All cars in the show will be set up in advance before the gates open around noon.
I’m not done yet.
After the show, we will be having a “after-show party” at the official hotel of the event, the A-Loft hotel just north of Austin in the trendy town center called The Domain.

We will have the bar / lounge where happy hour prices will be available to attendees up to 11pm for those 21 and above. We will have a live DJ spinning, as well as safe and secure parking for all attendees.

We have been given a discounted rate of $89.00 a night vs the normal pricing of $149.00. Be sure to mention the 512 Project when registering for the discount.
Here is the hotel info:
A-Loft Hotel
11601 Domain Drive
Austin, TX 78758
P 866.932.7660
To cap it all off, Mark Arcenal (creator of Fatlace / HellaFlush) will be there in person along with his entire team. This is the HF teams first time in Texas so let’s make sure to make them feel welcomed with a big Texas presence at the show.
We have caravans already forming in the NorthEast, Southeast, Las Vegas, and California areas. This show will be bringing people in from all over the country, so if you want to make the show, more then likely there will be a group traveling from your area.
As a special note to the NorthEast caravan, you will have the pleasure of Stephen from Wagenwerks / AWOL.tv traveling with you, documenting the road trip down. If you need evidence to his abilities please see www.wagenwerks.com or www.awol.tv.
All cars must be registered in advance of the show, and it will be $35 to register. This will give you two passes for you and a passenger and also allow you to participate in the rally from Dallas or Houston. Spectator tickets will be $10 at the gate. This event is for cars based around the Flush / Stance scene and all cars will be pre-screened. We are being fairly loose on the definition of wheel fitment, so if you think you car is dialed in please register it. We don’t want anyone to miss this!
REGISTER HERE
There is plenty more surprises to unveil, as it gets closer to the event, so check back in frequently.

A couple of months ago Ben and Mike from StanceWorks were talking to me about designing the perfect suspension dedicated for slammed cars. To my surprise they wanted me to test out their prototype coilovers for the Z/Gs. So fast forward past all the designing faze to today when I got a nice little package in the mail.

A collaboration between StanceWorks x AST Suspension brings to you ZeroGround Clearance. I am so excited to put these through the test. They will see some track time come LSB in May and also some road travel as while. Look out for my full right up on these and were you can buy.
This is one giant steep for any car that wants the perfect rider while riding dumped...

Apple recently just unveiled their new iPad, and it was just a matter of time before they came out with a big ass touch screen. I really like were this is heading and I can't wait till them make a full touch screen desk top.. More info below..
The high-resolution, 9.7 inch LED-backlit, IPS display on iPad is remarkably crisp and vivid. Which makes it perfect for web browsing, watching movies, or showing off photos. The screen is 9.7 inches, measured diagonally. So overall, it’s slightly smaller than a magazine. And at just 1.5 lbs and 0.5 inches thin,1 it’s easy to carry and use anywhere. You can use iPad for up to 10 hours while surfing the web on Wi-Fi, watching videos, or listening to music.

So as 2009 comes to an end, I look back at how bless PW and I have been. First I finally finished my car (I know its about time) and it received so much love it blew my mind. Next I get posted on SpeedHunters, HellaFlush and again on SpeedHunters but as a full feature. These things alone just made my year. Then I became an official blogger for StanceWorks (which I will touch on that on a later post), which I'm so honored to be apart of.
As for Purple Wall, we have grown so much. We still don't have any vendors that will change in 2010 I promise you that. Last month I made a trip out to L.A. for some business and pleasure you might say. Took the Ol'Lady to L.A. cause she loves it so and I needed to cover the HellaFlush III event, I would say that is a win, win in my book.

First stop on my trip has to be Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles. This has to be the best combo that has ever hit a plate. Serious you have fried chicken which Roscoe's does that proper and has to be the best I have tasted in a long time and then you throw some Waffles in the mix to top everything off right. I miss you already Roscoe's

Next stop was Calabasas CA. This place is pretty nice, it has that upscale vibe. As we were walking around I came across these dogs that were just seating at a table like they had scheduled a lunch date. No master in sight, a few minutes later he comes out and says "you want to see some tricks?" too funny..

This theater had such a 50's vibe that I just had to snap a pic. Was hoping that they were showing '12 Angry Men or Singin' in the Rain'

We stubbled in to this bakery called 'Crumbs' which I think is the most creative name for a bakery.

Cupcakes are what's on the menu at Crumbs, and I could not be more happier with the selection...

We each picked one of our favorites and went to town...My weapon of choice is cookie dough...

My wife lookn fresh to def...

Our lovely friend Pina joined us on our trip to L.A...Ka-chow!

When we are in L.A. we always find our self on either Melrose, Fairfax or Hollywood. I just love the real world in your face vibe on Hollywood..

Love this pic reminds me of the 1960's Batman show

Well tell next time L.A. I will have sweet dreams about your lovely lights... See you in January..

Last week SpeedHunters contacted me about a feature on my car and wanted to set something up doing their meet. "Hell Yea!" was the answer I gave them as I am a big fan of SpeedHunters and Rod Chongs work. You can say they made my year. So here we are plotting out our route and having a quick meeting before we head out..

Along with Rod Chong, another SpeedHunters member joined us for the occasion. Everyone should know him as Nguyen Linhbergh. He is the guy shooting my trunk, he loved my traveling setup with wood blocks to get the car high enough for my jack, a most have for slammed cars...

If you have not seen this car already then you most have been living under a rock. This is the Top Secret G37, and man does it have balls. The owner is John host of Access Zero number 42 and owner of Planet Zero Anime Center in Houston.

The man him self Rod Chong, what can I say about this guy that has not been said already. Great guy all around, he knows a thing or two about cars and it shows through is videos and photography. He is the mastermind behind SpeedHunters and it was a true honor to meet him and chat it up a bet.

Weapon of choice is this "Canon"

He has such an eye for bringing out the best in a car, we found this lovely spot that had 18-wheelers, gravel road and steel all over the place. All I could do is sit back and watch in amazement as Rod did his thing. You will have to wait for the feature to drop in November, as SpeedHunters.com has dedicated that month to Slammed cars. Thank you Rod Chong and Linhbergh for an awesome time and hope we can do it again some time.

A couple of other cars were being shoot for features as well. This lovely G35 Sedan is the sexiest thing on the road here in Houston. Wouldn't be a bad daily driver..

Can you say "Uuuu Siickk!!"
Everyone go check out SpeedHunters.com for coverage on any thing car related around the world..

A couple of weeks ago I set up a photoshoot for my car with Jun, a photographer in Dallas TX. I arrived in Dallas around 5:30 am and was schedule for shooting around 7:00 am, the shot lasted till 5pm. The shoot was right before Stance of the Union so there was no sleep for me.

We shot mainly around downtown Dallas, and let me tell you it was the scariest ride of my life. Reason being the roads are not friendly to slammed cars. Angry business men honking their horns at me cause I was traveling at an amazing speed of 5mph..

Look for shots to hit the site in a couple of days also look for them on the front page of Stanceworks.com as they are going to feature my car... I would like to thank Jun for an awesome time and learned allot from watching you.
Oh did I mention that Jun is stating up his own line called Authentic.. A dope line I must add. You can check him out on his blog here J.LU Photography
